Dunnville Mudcats

7th place PJHL (of 8 teams)

The Dunnville Mudcats had a bad start to their week, getting swept away by Grimsby 4-0 on October 15, 2019. It was a frustrating game for Dunnville, with three of their players receiving game misconducts in the third for abuse of officials and two others receiving misconducts for inciting an opponent. Austin Davison made 27 saves in the loss.

The following night things did not improve as Dunnville was demolished 8-1 by Glanbrook. Glanbrook scored three times in the first and four times in the second before   Dunnville’s Nathan Jackson got them on the board, which was answered by Glanbrook that same period. There was no scoring in the third. Davison made 34 saves on 36 shots and Mitch Harvey recorded the loss with 11 saves on 17 shots.

October 18 Dunnville faced Niagara. Noah Bourdon got the Mudcats on the board halfway through the first, but Niagara had it tied by the end of the period. Dunnville’s Jack MacDonald and Matthew Fang put them up by two in the second, which Niagara evened up with two goals of their own. Bourdon got his second of the night, followed by Colton Shoemaker at the end of the second. Shoemaker increased the Mudcat lead in the third on the powerplay and unassisted. Niagara found the net twice on the powerplay. Bourdon got a hat trick on the empty net for a well-deserved 7-5 win. Davison had 34 saves in net.

Next, Dunnville heads to Dundas October 24 and then hosts Glanbrook the following day at 7:30 p.m.
