HAGERSVILLE—On March 13, 2021 the Hagersville Lions held another can and bottle drive at the Hagersville Community Centre parking lot. The drive took place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Luckily we had some volunteers arrive early, as some donations began to arrive as early as just after 8 a.m.
We had a drive-through set up where the Lions opened the trunk and took the empties out of each vehicle so that those donating did not have to get out of their car and could stay socially distanced.
We, the Hagersville District Lions, would like to thank Hagersville and surrounding communities for supporting our can and bottle drive to raise funds for our various Lions donations. We had a tremendous turnout and we raised a record amount of $2,280.
Our last bottle drive on October 17, 2020 raised a wonderful $1,945, which means that this March 13 bottle drive raised 17% more funds than the October drive.
The Hagersville Lions (as all Lions Clubs do), will donate 100% of these funds raised back to local, regional, and global causes that will help groups and charitable organizations. As always, any administration costs are financed by the clubs through their Lions members.
Stay safe and healthy.
