CAYUGA—During the season of Lent, members of Oneida United Church were challenged to collect coins for the many every daygifts they enjoy (i.e. a coin for every can of soup, box of cereal, pair of shoes, etc.). The collection totalled $1,000, which has been donated to Community Living Haldimand (CLH) in support of the Jennie Deagle Dream Fund. The fund began in 2019 and each dream can be up to $5,000 in value. Ken Edwards, Director of Corporate Services at CLH, explains, “The Dream Fund is about providing dreams to the people we support…. It’s a personal choice … (as) this is for something they really want.” Pictured during the donation presentation are (l-r): Suzanne Rauwerda, Dream Fund Committee; Pastor Diane Viney, Oneida United Church; Ken Edwards, and Marilyn Vander Bolt, Oneida United Church.
