HALDIMAND—Haldimand cross country runners descended on Ruthven Park National Historic Site on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Annie Sheppard (left) of the Jarvis Jets led the Haldimand Grade 6 girls cross country race from the start, only to fall on the hill leading to the finish, allowing her competition to catch up and pass her. However, she recovered, caught her JL Mitchener competitor with five metres to go, and nipped her rival at the finish to defend the Haldimand Championship title she won last year in the Grade 5 girls race. Full results were unavailable at press time; all top competitors will advance to the Combined Athletics Grand Erie (CAGE) Championships in Turkey Point on October 24.
