HALDIMAND—Winter in Haldimand was nowhere to be seen for most of December and early January, and Haldimand residents were wondering if they would get off light this year.
Old man winter had other ideas and abruptly changed course, delivering two significant snow storms and a cold snap within the last two weeks.
Anywhere from 40-60 centimeters of snow was recorded across the county in the month of January with bitter temperatures that challenged numerous record lows and wind chills into the -30s.
