Song for the Water now available for free download

HALDIMAND—October 18, 2019 award-winning artists Logan Staats and Rob Lamothe premiered Song for the Water. Bursting with character, this masterpiece was co-created with students across the Six Nations of the Grand River, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and Haldimand County through song-writing workshops led by Staats and Lamothe. Song for the Water is now available for free download at roblamothe.bandcamp.com/track/song-for-the-water.

“Rob and Logan initiated an environment, giving each participant a voice where Song for the Water became a metaphor for relationship. As a canvas for collective storytelling, the project builds and maintains a space for pride, insight, and celebration,” said Christopher McLeod, Creative Director of Great Art for Great Lakes (GAGL). GAGL commissioned five artists to create projects that would bring together residents and create a better understanding of the service the great lakes provides to our collective identity.
