HALDIMAND—According to the 2019 BMA Municipal Study results, Haldimand County is entering the new decade in a strong financial position.
“Haldimand County is among the best in the entire survey in terms of overall financial position,” said Jim Bruzzese, BMA Consultant.
The study compares a number of socio-economic areas of approximately 110 Ontario municipalities. The County provides the most recent information available and once completed Council receives the entire study as well as a presentation of key data compared to nine other Ontario municipalities.
The municipalities compared to Haldimand were: Brant County, Brantford, Kingston, Hamilton, Chatham-Kent, Bellville, Greater Sudbury, Norfolk, and Niagara Falls. They were chosen due to geographical proximity or population size. Haldimand’s results were also compared to the overall survey average. The presentation highlighted numerous strengths in Haldimand County, but also provided information regarding factors beyond the control of the county.
