DUNNVILLE—Earlier this year Tim Hortons corporate office announced that the beloved Smile Cookie Week will be held in the spring instead of the fall.

Dunnville Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (DHHF) is gearing up to collaborate with Dunnville Tim Hortons to defend their Smile Cookie Capital of Canada title for the sixth year in a row during the week of May 1 to 7, 2023.

Since 2005, proceeds from the Smile Cookie campaign have supported DHHF. In fact, over $277,000 has been raised with the funds going to the purchase of the highest priority medical equipment at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital.

In order for DHHF and Dunnville Tim Hortons to maintain the title, they need the help of the amazing community once again! In particular, they need volunteers to decorate cookies. They need approximately 200 volunteer hours to be filled.

“Volunteering and working with the Tim Hortons staff, all the community members, and all the volunteers is a truly engaging opportunity that brings us all together to raise funds for our hospital,” says Danielle Ormonde, Signature Events Coordinator for DHHF. “We thank all of you for your past support and we cannot wait to see what this year holds! Let’s make this year the best one yet!”

“With the move to May this year, we had to rejig a few of our fundraising priorities,” says Penny Banks, Executive Director at DHHF. “We will make it work because the funds raised through the Smile Cookie campaign have a huge impact for us!”

Ryan DiTommaso, the owner at the Dunnville Tim Hortons, has committed the proceeds from this year’s smile cookies to the new CT Scanner for Haldimand War Memorial Hospital.

This event would not be possible without the community and DHHF needs your help! Do you have a few hours to help them keep the title? If you are looking for a fun experience and want to be a part of history in the making, contact the foundation office at events@dhhf.ca.
