HALDIMAND—The U18B Haldimand Rivercats girls hockey team is lacing up for a cause.

From October 17-19, 2025 the team will proudly participate in the Pink the Rink Tournament in Etobicoke, a special event dedicated to breast cancer awareness and support. The Rivercats are honoured to represent Haldimand in this meaningful and highly sought-after tournament – one that draws teams from across Ontario united by the fight against breast cancer.

Team Manager Chelsie Small secured the spot for the girls, giving them an opportunity to compete while contributing to a cause that touches countless families.

The team will take to the ice decked out head-to-toe in pink, including custom pink jerseys sponsored by Janice Robinson (great aunt of #31 Dani Yates) and Top Lift Enterprises.

“This is about more than hockey,” said Head Coach Aaron Stallwood. “Pink the Rink gives our players a chance to be part of something bigger than the game itself. They’re playing for every mom, aunt, grandmother, sister, and friend who’s been affected by breast cancer. Seeing our team come together – with heart, determination, and pride – to represent Haldimand in this way is something truly special. I couldn’t be prouder of this group.”

The team took part in the tournament’s “Team Spirit” photo contest, capturing the energy, unity, and fun that defines this incredible team. Decked out in every shade of pink imaginable, the girls went all-in to celebrate the cause and their team, creating memories that perfectly reflect their heart both on and off the ice.

The U18B Haldimand Rivercats invite all friends, families, and supporters back home to cheer them on from Haldimand and share in their mission to make a difference – one goal, one game, and one pink jersey at a time.
