YORK—The GEMS girls club of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church in York had a great time at their second annual “Sister in Christ” Tea Party on Thursday, April 20, 2023. The girls were paired with a woman from the church in the fall and have connected in various ways over the months, culminating in a celebration together at the Tea Party, dressed in their finest. Our club theme this year was “Act, Love, Walk” with the Bible verse Micah 6:8 as our guide: “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with our Lord.” We have dug into what that means in our lives in our weekly meetings, learning how we were made ON purpose FOR a purpose, and the importance of prayer. What a blessing to see these generations of ladies connect together!
