HAGERSVILLE—The 1st Hagersville Scouting held their year-end picnic at Hagersville United Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 6 p.m.
After a picnic of hotdogs, chips, water, and ice cream, the Scout Leaders were thanked for their dedication to the youth of Hagersville and surrounding area.
Rick Mitchener retired after 42 years in Scouting. Ralph Smith received his 55-year certificate, Jo-Ann Duns received her 25-year certificate, and Adele Krauskopf received her five-year certificate. Charles Gerrior, Beverly Petheram, and Judy Motley received their Medal of Good Service Awards. Two Cubs, Arthur Valair and Jakob Legleiter, received their Seeone Award where they had to do a community project, 10 hours of community service, and collect 10 points in their Outdoor Adventure Skills Badges. Two Beavers, George Valair and Mason Beckham, received their Northern Star Award where they had to do a community project, five hours of community service, and collect five points in their Outdoor Adventure Skills Badges.
