JARVIS—The Haldimand 4-H Crochet Club kicked off on April 19, 2025 at leader Kathie Phibbs’ home, with co-leader Linda Atkinson. Members introduced themselves and elected officers: Abigail VanRavenswaay as President, Delilah Baxter as Vice-President, Secretary not filled, and Anna Vaarkamp as Press Reporter.

At their first meeting, members learned the 4-H pledge (I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking, my HEART to greater loyalty, my HANDS to larger service, and my HEALTH to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world), made Easter egg fridge magnets, practised judging those magnets, and began learning or improving crochet skills. Juniors started with basics while seniors prepared yarn and assessed skill levels.
In the second meeting, members recited the 4-H pledge, judged lunch bags, and learned the double crochet stitch. Leaders also shared info about upcoming events: Go for the Gold (May 28, Canfield Hall) and Judging Night (June 12, Caledonia Riverside Exhibition Centre).
The third meeting began with the 4-H pledge, updates on Haldimand 4-H upcoming events, and judging adhesives for photo boards. Members then continued crochet work on their personal projects – a chain purse or turtle stuffies. The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025.
