DUNNVILLE—On May 10, 2023 at approximately 7:31 p.m. Haldimand OPP, Haldimand Fire Department, and Haldimand EMS responded to single All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision at a Melick Road, Dunnville address.
It has been determined that a 79-year-old operator of Haldimand County and a 49-year-old passenger of Hamilton were travelling along Melick Road when the driver of the ATV lost control and struck a tree, ejecting both the driver and passenger.
As a result, the operator suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital and then air lifted to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment. The passenger was also transported to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
On May 11, 2023 the driver of the ATV was pronounced deceased in hospital.
