Driver who hit Maeve Field charged

HAGERSVILLE—The 80-year-old woman from Brampton who struck Maeve Field with her vehicle has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. The investigation has determined that medical issues were a contributing factor in the accident.

As previously reported, on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at about 1 p.m. the woman was sitting parked in her vehicle facing southbound on Main Street in Hagersville when she accelerated while in reverse. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, hitting an SUV before going over the curb and colliding with two children who were walking on the sidewalk with their family.
