DUNNVILLE—The Haldimand Norfolk Literacy Council will be holding the educational seminar Overdose Prevention, Recognition and Response at the Haldimand Adult Learning Centre this December.
The session will be held on December 2, with three chances to attend. Sessions geared toward adults will be held at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., with a youth-oriented session taking place at 5 p.m. “The Health Unit, run by Tamara Robb who spearheads the harmful reduction team, will be the one who will facilitate and share the information,” said Gina McIntee, a representative for the Learning Centre.
The main focus of the session will be providing information about how best to avoid an overdose situation from arising, with tips on how to recognize and respond promptly to a crisis. There will be a breakdown of how to effectively use the anti-overdose drug naloxone and a question and answer period.
