From the office of MP Diane Finley
To The Haldimand Press
HALDIMAND—“Medical assistance in dying is an extremely personal and important issue for many people in Haldimand-Norfolk. That’s why I’m encouraging members of our community to have their say before the Liberals make changes to the legislation,” said Diane Finley, Member of Parliament for Haldimand Norfolk.
On January 13, 2020 the Liberal government announced that it would be launching a two-week online consultation process before changes are made to legislation on medical assistance in dying. The consultation process will end on January 27.
“For a matter as important as medical assistance in dying, it’s concerning that the Liberal government is only allowing two weeks for Canadians to express their views. I believe that the consultation process should have been longer,” Finley stated.
