HAGERSVILLE—While it’s been almost a year since then-four-year-old Maeve Field was struck and pinned by a vehicle that lost control and drove over the sidewalk, support for her recovery has not slowed down. Gerry Krabbenbos, Store Manager of Hagersville Foodland, is delighted to announce a new fundraising effort in support of Maeve, who was catastrophically injured in the accident that took place as she and her family were walking in downtown Hagersville on March 9, 2019.
“The Johnston Family opened Hagersville Foodland 60 years ago. Their commitment to the community contributed to their success as a family and as a business. Today and going forward, Foodland will carry on that tradition of support and help where we can for those in need, such as local food banks and community organizations, whenever possible,” said Krabbenbos.
The team at Foodland continues to hold Maeve in their hearts and minds. They’re launching a pretty ‘sweet’ fundraiser to help Maeve and her family with the extensive medical costs that are ongoing and otherwise not covered. Having started January 9, 2020, customers can now purchase a “Mighty Maeve Cake” with proceeds going directly to Maeve and her family. The cake’s design is inspired by some of Maeve’s favourite things. This fundraiser will be ongoing.
