FISHERVILLE—When John and Janna Overend, owners of the Fisherville Hotel & Tavern, heard that Haldimand Motors would be retiring their annual Soup A Bowl fundraiser this year, they decided to continue the tradition.
They sold the Mexican Corn Chowder they had planned to make for the event and gave 100% of proceeds to the Cayuga Food Bank.
The Fisherville Tavern had participated in the Soup A Bowl event for a number of years, which benefited food banks as well.
The restaurant sold their soup, which included Snyder’s Sweet Corn, from January 31 to February 2, 2020. A bowl-full sold for $6.95 and a one-litre jar for $15.
