JARVIS—The Jarvis Firefighters Association (JFA) has been selected as a recipient of a grant from the Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities Program.
This unique grant program is sponsored by the Bayer Fund with the purpose of “strengthening rural communities by equipping local non-profit organizations with funds to carry out much needed community work.” Matt Beischlag, a Jarvis-area chicken and crop farmer explains, “Any farmer can apply for any organization in their community.” Essentially, this gives farmers the opportunity to help improve the lives of those living in rural communities.
