CALEDONIA—JustOne may seem like just a local business in Caledonia, but it is so much more than that.

Krista Jefferson was a professional photographer with dreams of being able to find a way to give back and make a difference. A personal photo project led Jefferson to enter a national photography contest and win, where she found herself in Uganda taking photos as the prize.

While in Uganda, Jefferson heard the stories of the many people she met and spoke with. As a souvenir, she decided to buy a locally-made Ugandan necklace. When Jefferson got back from Uganda, it seemed everywhere she went someone was complimenting her on the necklace, and whenever someone did, Jefferson would tell them the story of the woman who made it.

When Jefferson heard that one of her friends was returning to Uganda, she asked on her photography blog if anyone was interested in buying a necklace similar to hers. Within two weeks, 200 necklaces were sold and 100 people were on a waiting list!
