CALEDONIA—The traditional Caledonia Fair may have been cancelled in 2020, but the Caledonia Agricultural Society is working on presenting a ‘Virtual Fair’ experience instead.
“The Fair is such a big part of the life and traditions of Haldimand County and surrounding area that we wanted to do something to help fill the void,” says Agricultural Society President Allan Hedley. “We’re offering some competitions, memories, and activities to give people some of the fall Fair experience, and hopefully brighten people’s days in a very trying time.”
Highlights of the Virtual Fair include a colouring competition, a Caledonia town-wide scavenger hunt, and online games and activities on the Caledonia Fair website. Both the website and Facebook page will run videos featuring fair history, farm animals, and educational pieces that have been shown at the fair in recent years, plus behind the scenes looks at the fair in more traditional times.
