DUNNVILLE—Haldimand OPP has charged a 29-year-old individual following an investigation at Byng Island Conservation Area on Haldimand Road 20 in Dunnville.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 5:37 p.m. OPP responded to Byng Island Conservation Area after a witness observed two individuals breaking into a trailer in the park and contacted police. A witness reported that individuals removed several items from a trailer.
Police attended and located one of the individuals matching the description and investigation led to them being placed under arrest. Further investigation determined that the individual had an outstanding warrant with Haldimand County OPP.
OPP has charged a 29-year-old of Dunnville with:
- Break, Enter, and Commit
- Possess Break-in Instruments
- Obstruct Police
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga.
The second individual involved remains outstanding.
