Another “no-go” in 2021 for Santa Claus parades Snowflake Tour to return instead

CALEDONIA—The Caledonia Regional Chamber of Commerce and its Christmas in Caledonia committee resolved last week that there will not be a Santa Claus parade in Caledonia in 2021.

Following meetings between Haldimand County’s Supervisor of Community Programs and Events Lynda Kissner with the Hagersville, Cayuga, and Caledonia parade chairs, it was concluded restrictions on float participants and parade goers was the main reason for the three Haldimand communities to forego a parade this year.

What has been dubbed “Santa’s Snowflake Tour” will take place instead.

The tour’s visits to streets will be enhanced in all three communities. Townsend has requested to join in for the tour again as they did last year.

The Santa Claus float, created by Caledonia’s Special Projects group, will be enlarged and will include another float with Thomas the Train. Elves will accompany the tour as well.

In difficult turn-around streets, parents are requested to have children at a good viewing location.

Caledonia “Santa’s Snowflake Tour” begins the evening of Thursday, November 25, 2021 and continues each night until November 28. Hagersville, Cayuga, and Townsend’s  “Santa’s Snowflake Tour” will continue on the following December weekends.
