OPP responds to report of abandoned livestock

HALDIMAND—Haldimand OPP was called to an address in Haldimand County to investigate the report of approximately 40 calves, two piglets, and one turkey that appeared to have been abandoned. 

There were two deceased calves on the property and the surviving animals were considered to be in critical condition. Animal Welfare Services attended the location to remove the livestock and will be conducting the investigation into possible animal cruelty.

The OPP is asking that anyone who witnesses or knows of an act of cruelty to animals to please call 1-888-310-1122.
