OPP seeking information on vehicle passing school bus

CANFIELD—On January 27, 2022, at 8:05 a.m., Haldimand OPP, Emergency Services, and Fire Services responded to a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle that had passed a school bus and hit a blue recycling box at the side of the road, causing a pedestrian to be struck by flying debris. 

The school bus was stopped facing eastbound on Talbot Road in Canfield with the lights flashing and the stop sign extended. The vehicle did not stop or slow down for the school bus, but instead veered to the right and almost struck the person standing at the end of their driveway. The person that was struck by the debris suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for assessment. The suspect vehicle is described as a mid-sized sedan, possibly a Toyota or Nissan, dark in colour, and was also travelling eastbound on Talbot Road in Canfield. 

The vehicle was said to be operated by a young white male in his early 20s, wearing a dark jacket and dark pants. The male was described as being very pale, thin, with dark hair and between 5’11” and 6’1” tall.
