HAGERSVILLE—Dixieland Grill hosted a southern chicken dinner fundraiser on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The funds raised will help Miss Pre-Teen Six Nations, Raynee Smith (left), travel to New Mexico to support Miss Six Nations, Mikayla Richie, as she competes in the Miss Indian World Competition at the Gathering of the Nations Pow Wow. A statement to The Press said, “Miss Indian World exemplifies the pride and dignity of native women…. Raynee will have the opportunity to be mentored and network with fellow Ogwehoweh teens.” Nick Wyman (right), Owner of Dixieland Grill, said they sold 82 dinners and were able to raise $900, which was above their goal. He added, “We were thrilled to help in this initiative.”
