HAGERSVILLE—After almost three decades in business, Tim Otterman, owner of Tim’s Tirecraft Auto Centre, knows the value of a good employee. An employee like Eric Armstrong who, with 25 years, is the longest serving member of the Tim’s Tires team.
Armstrong and Otterman have worked in the industry for over 40 years, previously at Hagersville Tire and Mackenzie Tire. Otterman says, “We’ve been friends and he’s been part of my growing as a business. It’s hard to find people like that.”
Armstrong has not only shown commitment on the job but to the community as well. When the business is called upon for assistance, Armstrong readily gets involved.
He says, “If anybody needs help, they call here.”
Armstrong is also a long-time member of the Hagersville Legion. Whether it be the Legion, fire department, Chamber, or other organization, Otterman states, “He has always been there to help me help the community. He’s the first one to jump on the forklift if something needs to be moved.”
Otterman believes it is important to appreciate employees and presented a specially made plaque in recognition of Armstrong’s service. He says, “I’m proud of all my guys. They’ve helped me build what I’ve got.”
Looking forward, he is confident that Armstrong will continue to be a dedicated worker in the town. He says, “Even when he retires he’ll still be there for the community. We all look out for each other.”
