DUNNVILLE—The Dunnville Community Theatre has been hard at work putting together their current production called “Hope at Home” which will run May 12-14 and 19-21, 2023.

All shows will be performed at Knox Presbyterian Church, Dunnville with Fridays and Sundays being a show only and Saturdays including a dinner theatre.

Jean Furlong, Director, quotes from the playwright’s notes saying, “Some of us get married, some of us have children, but all of us, through no fault of our own, have families. You either love them, put up with them, or move to Vancouver.”

This quote, Jean says, “Is the essence of Having Hope at Home. It makes the audience want each member to succeed in their own right.”

Furlong acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the “team effort of tireless people who sell tickets, do front of house, publicity, loan their personal items, build props, run about picking up props, put together programs, build sets – the list is endless. They are often not the ones we see on the stage, but they are the ones who make it all happen and will share the audience’s applause.”

Along with many members of the community involved directly in the play, Furlong would like to thank the Knox Presbyterian Church “for generously sharing their facility with DCT” along with “the patrons who come to share this play with DCT.”

She explains, “This cast of six with 50 or more persons helping behind the scenes, have had a great deal of fun developing the characters from paper to stage, giving the words life, painting the moving art form you will see at Knox May 12-14 and May 19-21. This cast and crew have been a delight to work with.”

Fridays are show only. Sundays are matinees, with May 14 being Mother’s Day and a great experience gift for those still looking for a present. Ticket prices are $25 for adults while students and seniors are $22.

Saturdays are Dinner Theatres catered by Debb’s Cuisine. Dinner Tickets $72, show-only tickets $25. Dinner tickets must be purchased at least two weeks in advance.
