Haldimand OPP lay charges in bank fraud

DUNNVILLE—A 34-year-old Mississauga resident is facing charges after alert bank employees contacted police to report a person attempting a fraud.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Haldimand OPP members responded to a report of a fraud in progress at a banking institution in Dunnville.

Bank employees recognized the suspect from an internal memo and contacted police.

A 34-year-old from Mississauga has been charged with the following offences:

Fraud Over $5,000 and

Use, deals, acts on forged document (four counts).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Cayuga at a later date.

Police are continuing to investigate and anticipate further charges.
