CALEDONIA—An individual was arrested on the weekend following police receiving a traffic complaint.
On January 11, 2026 at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the Haldimand OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Argyle Street in Caledonia. The vehicle was located, and the driver was taken into custody.
A 31-year-old of Caledonia has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (BAC) 80-plus
- Novice driver with a BAC above zero
Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on March 10, 2026. None of the charges have been proven in court.
