June 7, 1944 – July 7, 2026
Surrounded by her loving family at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton, June Riley-Barbour (née Riley) peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Saviour on July 7, 2026. June is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 33 years, Bryant Barbour. Raised on a farm in Cayuga, June was one of eight siblings. She was predeceased by her parents, Lilly and Arthur, and by her siblings John Riley (late Joyce), infant Willie Riley, Ann Connoly (Sam), and Ruth Smith (late Lyall). She is survived by her sisters Bernice Spittle (late Glen), Lucy Link (Vern), and Joan Brown (David). June’s greatest joy was her family. She shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as a “second mom” to Willie (Melanie), Joanna (Jimmy), and Ken (Jessica). Her love, encouragement, generosity, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on their lives. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Aven, Carter, Tyse, Madison, Lilly, Kai, Ethan, and many more nieces and nephews who brought her endless pride and happiness. A faithful member of Peoples Church in Hamilton for many years, June lived out her faith through service and kindness. She began her career at Reid Press in Hamilton, and later Reid-Dominion, before discovering her true calling in early childhood education. For 17 years, she lovingly cared for and taught children at Little Peoples Daycare, where she touched the lives of countless families with her patience, compassion, and gentle spirit. In memory of June, donations may be made to Peoples Church Hamilton, in support of the Greater Project, a ministry that was especially close to her heart. Funeral arrangements entrusted to MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia (905-765-2712).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Peoples Church, 510 Mohawk Road West, Hamilton, on Tuesday, July 28.
