DUNNVILLE—An individual is facing an impaired driving charge as a result of an investigation in Haldimand County.
On Wednesday, July 13, 2026, at approximately 3:25 a.m., members from the Haldimand County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an ambulance assistance call for service regarding a vehicle on Diltz Road.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Wellandport resident was charged with:
* Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
* Failure or refusal to comply with demand
* Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on September 1, 2026.
The charges have not been proven in court.
