To the Editors,
This letter is my open attack on how unelected Haldimand roads staff and elected Council can warrant what intersections need and are granted all-way stops necessary for safety to the public and to help control traffic, as I allege, this present process is severely flawed.
Two years ago Councillor Bernie Corbett and I met with Director of Engineering, Tyson Haedrich, concerning having all-way signs erected at the corner of Tamarac and Ramsey Drive to control traffic and help eliminate speeding, but Mr. Haedrich basically stated it was not warranted and said “I do not like to use stop signs to control traffic and speeding as that is the OPP’s job”.
On June 14, a motorcycle t-boned a semi-truck at this very intersection (as pictured in a report in last week’s Press). I emailed Bernie and told him about the accident and said maybe now we will get that all-way stop, then he emailed back and enlightened me on how the road system operates in Haldimand.
