Passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice on Wednesday February 14, 2024 in his 85th year. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothy (Nelles), children Debbie (Gord Ballagh), Paul (Cindy), grandchildren Jestin and Rebecca Miller and Evan Ballagh. He leaves behind one sibling, Louise (Lyle Rea, predeceased) and predeceased by his parents Russell and Muriel. He enjoyed square dancing for many years. After retirement he enjoyed winter vacationing at their condo in Florida, and summer golfing weekly with other retirees. As per his wishes, cremation and a private family service has taken place. The family would like to extend special thanks to Joseph Brant Hospital – doctors and nursing staff as well as Carpenter Hospice – doctors, nursing staff, PSW’s and volunteers for the compassionate care shown to Mac and family during his stay. If desired, memorial contributions to either Joseph Brant Hospital or Carpenter Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
