JARVIS—The volunteers of the Jarvis Fire Department (JFD) opened the doors and welcomed the public to Station 3 on Sunday, August 3, 2025 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of JFD. Visitors had the opportunity to greet current volunteers, tour the hall, and get an up close look at the fire trucks and equipment. For the kids there were games, activities, and souvenirs that added to the fun of the day.

JARVIS—Many children were happy to get up close to the fire trucks during the 100th anniversary open house. Above, 4-year-old Aubrey and 2-year-old Kaysen DeGraaf relax by the JFD rescue truck with some of the ‘swag’ they received. Below, Zarya Lewis, 3 ½, gets to meet Sparky.
JARVIS—Pictured (l-r) are the new recruits who joined the JFD in 2025: Philip Bergman, Anthony Elliott, and Owen Bluhm. It is interesting to note that Anthony Elliott’s great-great-grandfather, WJ Elliott, was the first fire chief in Jarvis.
JARVIS—Behind every volunteer firefighter is a supportive family, so several of the Jarvis volunteers were able to share the 100th anniversary open house with family members. Above, Riley Jamieson helps his son Jett, 22 months, with a chalk drawing.
