CFSGE seeks board members

HALDIMAND—Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFSGE) is inviting local residents to consider joining its Board of Directors. The organization is looking for engaged, community-minded individuals who want to help shape the future of services for children, youth, and families across Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, and the surrounding Indigenous communities.

As a volunteer board member, you’ll play a vital role in guiding one of the region’s key child and family service agencies. The board provides oversight, strategic direction, and community accountability, ensuring CFSGE continues to deliver inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful services.

CFSGE encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those with lived or professional experience in social work, governance, legal, finance, education, equity work, or advocacy. The organization is also committed to reflecting the diversity of the communities it serves and strongly encourages members of Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, racialized, and newcomer communities to apply.

Board members typically attend 10 to 12 meetings per year and contribute to committee work that supports key areas like governance, finance, and strategic planning. No previous board experience is required, just a commitment to learning and a passion for supporting children and families.

Training and support are provided, and all members serve in a volunteer capacity.
