HALDIMAND — Haldimand County Council has reviewed and approved the second of its three major budgets for 2022, the Tax Supported Capital Budget, following a five-hour long meeting last week.
“This budget deals with tangible assets. Things like roads, bridges, fire halls, libraries – things you can feel and touch,” explained County CAO Craig Manley during the meeting. “The 10-year forecast represents a $310 million capital investment in the county to replace, enhance, and add new assets…. Roughly 88%, or somewhere in the neighbourhood of $273 million, is for the repair or replacement of existing assets. The balance is for new assets.”
