HALDIMAND—Last week, Haldimand Council members got their first look at options for an affordable housing regeneration plan aiming to modernize affordable housing in Haldimand and Norfolk.
“Regeneration can mean a number of different things. It can mean doing repairs to existing stock to ensure that it is retained in a safe and healthy way,” explained Acting General Manager of Health and Social Services, Heidy VanDyk. “It can also mean redevelopment of the existing assets … so that they better meet the current community needs, and it can also mean selling existing stock that no longer meets the community housing need in order to develop new housing stock which is a better fit.”
