DUNNVILLE—On Tuesday, May 2, 2023 Patrick O’Neill, Haldimand Councillor for Ward 6, held a Community Clubs Member Drive at the Dunnville Lifespan Centre. The resounding message was that the service groups need more members, in fact more young members. The current volunteer population is aging and they are hoping to attract members to keep these clubs going. O’Neill is shown at left addressing the attendees. He said, “I am really happy that all the groups decided to take the time and come out to make sure the community knew what they are all about.… Some of the day-to-day are being covered, it’s the larger events that the clubs are struggling with for volunteers … (and) this at least gave them the chance to get in the same room and talk and then, of course, the public got a little more information so overall that was positive.”

DUNNVILLE—Members of the Dunnville Scout group (l-r) Thomas, Rita, and Romas Rickus were on hand to showcase the volunteer positions available with their youth group.

DUNNVILLE — Several non-profit groups participated in the evening to showcase what their club does and how people can get involved. oni Hayes Powell and Christine Gohn with Pride Haldimand Norfolk.
