CALEDONIA—This past Friday the Caledonia and Region Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) met with Mark Tutton, Chief Operating Officer of Empire Communities, to celebrate their new partnership. Empire Communities has become the title sponsor for two banner events presented by CRCC and the Caledonia BIA. With their generous donation of $10,000, Empire Communities is proud to build on the success of both the 2023 Caledonia Canada Day and Santa Claus parades.

Tutton is thrilled to be able to support CCRC and their efforts to bring the community together: “We know that the Chamber of Commerce is a really strong part of the fabric of the community, something that is necessary and something we would like to compliment and help out.”

CRCC and the BIA are responsible for organizing both parades and rely heavily on donations. This donation will go a long way in ensuring that both parades provide a memorable experience. Ward 3 Councillor Dan Lawrence shares, “It is always great to have corporate donors for community events that help put a smile on so many young and old.”

Caledonia BIA Coordinator Kathy Marshall has plenty of experience organizing parades. She says, “Empire Communities has been a great supporter of the community in the past; however, with this donation to two of Caledonia’s major events, they have knocked it out of the park! As part of the organizing committee for both parades, the Caledonia BIA is absolutely thrilled!”

Echoing Marshall’s comments, Jessica Lynburner, Executive Director of CRCC, adds, “This is a significant investment in the Chamber and the community we serve. It strengthens our ability to drive economic growth, support local businesses, and create opportunities for our members.”

This $10,000 donation is a prime example of the positive impact that corporate social responsibility can have on a community. When thanked for the donation, Tutton responded, “It’s our pleasure; we’re just fortunate to be able to participate and engage with communities that are so forward thinking about the quality of life.”
