Have Your Say: RE: Councillor Corbett's favourable comments about an indoor pool

To the editors,

I would like to add some comments and ideas of my own for the elusive indoor pool that has been talked about for years in Dunn-ville. I, like many others, were very encouraged when Councillor Bernie Corbett seemed to want to champion the project with public help.

I, like a large group of seniors and disabled people, took part in the free Aqua Fit water fitness classes this summer at the Lions Park Pool. When it closed due to the weather a carload of us travel to Port Colborne’s beautiful Olympic-size pool that we pay $12 a session to use and are treated great.

As Councillor Corbett fully understands, to move forward with a project like this requires help from the Federal and Provincial governments and our local Council, but would also need real support and leadership from our local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Optimist Club, etc. and senior support groups, plus the taxpayers of east Haldimand.
