Heritage Association presentation

DUNNVILLE—The Dunnville District Heritage Association will host Peter M. Pringle & Dunnville’s Archaeological Record, presented by Dr. Mima Kapches, retired curator of the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, on Wednesday, April 24.

Growing up in Dunnville, Pringle (1878-1953) spent a lot of time on the Grand River hunting ducks and collecting artifacts left by ancient inhabitants. While he became well-known as a master decoy carver, his last years were devoted to establishing an archaeological record of Dunnville for permanent display in town. Sadly, this never materialized. After his death, his nephew donated Pringle’s artifact collection to the Royal Ontario Museum.
