HAMILTON—Fresh off the completion of its groundbreaking eighth season, motivational home-improvement program ‘Just Ask Bob’ has been named 2024’s Outstanding Community-Generated Series by Hamilton’s community programming network, Cable 14.
The show was previously featured in The Haldimand Press’ annual Home Sweet Haldimand magazine, as host Bob Assadourian was seeking Haldimand homeowners to feature on the show.

For over 14 years with Just Ask Bob, first as an in-show segment before expanding to a stand-alone program in 2011, Assadourian has continually advocated for greater awareness and more knowledge when it comes to making home improvements.
The program is all about motivating homeowners to “get up, get off the couch, and tackle their own to-do lists,” ensuring they know what they can do themselves to properly improve their homes, and what to watch out for when looking for a licensed contractor for those projects that are beyond their own abilities.
For this award-winning eighth season, Assadourian invested more of his own time and resources into producing Just Ask Bob, allowing for a greater variety of timely content that could respond to viewer questions and concerns as they came in throughout the season. He’s also introduced a complementary monthly e-newsletter.
“Receiving this award is very dear to me,” says Assadourian. “It’s more motivation to keep taking the time to teach through the show. And I look forward to continuing to advocate for any and all homeowners in need, across Hamilton, Haldimand, and beyond.”
The Outstanding Community-Generated Series award goes to a member of the community who independently creates content and shares it with Cable 14.
Cable 14 General Manager Jonathan Freedman says, “Cable 14 is thrilled to have an engaged community producer like Bob in the programming lineup. What I personally love about Just Ask Bob is that it is well produced, entertaining, and educational.”
In his acceptance speech for the award, which can be seen online at 49:30 of https://tinyurl.com/yks2bvbn, Assadourian shares how Just Ask Bob also promotes his personal philosophy of always getting up and tackling life. The award was presented by former Hamilton Mayor Larry Di Ianni at a recent ceremony hosted at The Westdale.
Just Ask Bob has already been renewed for a nineth season, with new episodes returning to Cable 14 in October: “Season 9 will be bigger and bolder, continuing our philosophy of teaching and advocating for homeowners everywhere,” says Assadourian.
