Local athlete Caitlyn Thompson is refusing to let a pandemic slow her down

CAYUGA—There’s an old saying, “When you’re given a lemon, make lemonade!”

The “lemon” in this case is a virulent flu strain designated Coronvirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Its spread has caused shutdown of normal life, including schools and sports.

Although that lemon has caused 14-year-old Caitlyn Thompson of Cayuga to miss several things to which she was looking forward, she hasn’t let it mean the end of the world; the shutting-down of regular activities has provided her with the “lemonade” of additional time.
