DUNNVILLE—Summer is officially here, with the annual open house at the No. 6 RCAF Dunnville Museum.
The July 5, 2025 show was bigger and better, with a constant flow of vintage vehicles coming and going
Inside the hangar were displayed mementos of days gone by alongside vendors and community groups. Visitors could walk through the lean-to beside the hangar to see the museum’s collection. Then they could enjoy a hot dog or hamburger being cooked up by the Country Chip Wagon, all while singing along with the songs made famous by Elvis, sung by Brent Freeman.
What is an air museum without the sounds of airplanes flying? This year’s treat was a two-plane flyby that featured a Boeing Stearman — a World War II biplane that was used to train new pilots.
Later in the day, the Harvard, an advanced trainer during the war, flew over the museum. Pilots who flew in the Harvards went on to fly planes like the Spitfire, Hurricane, and Typhoon.
