HALDIMAND—We may be through the worst of the flood risks typically associated with the end of winter weather, but we’re not out of the woods just yet. The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) has a variety of tools at their disposal to help residents living near a body of water navigate potential flood risks.
There are multiple different types of flooding that impact Haldimand’s diverse areas. Urban flooding, including overflowing storm sewers, is the responsibility of County staff. When it comes to natural hazards, the NPCA works in collaboration with Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) and Long Point Region Conservation Authority (LPRCA) to monitor, analyze, and warn residents of impending environment-related dangers.
