HAGERSVILLE—The Oneida Plowmen’s Association held their 73rd annual plowing match at the farm of Matt and Jordan Regan just outside of Hagersville on Saturday, October 8, 2022. The Oneida Plowmen were happy to have 20 competitors from all over southern Ontario and the recently crowned Ontario Queen of the Furrow Maranda Klaver came out to support the match. Thanks to our many generous sponsors this year. An awards ceremony catered by the Caledonia Agricultural Society was held at the Oneida United Church and was enjoyed after the match. Best plowed land of the day went to Mark Vaarkamp of Hagersville. Best plowed land by a junior and first-time plower went to Deklan Vaarkamp of Hagersville. Looking forward to the Haldimand Plowing Match Saturday, October 15 hosted by Steve Moodie at the corner of Windecker Road and Concession 2. Shown above: John D. Laidlaw, President, Jordan Regan, Secretary and Deklan Vaarkamp Junior champion.
