Driver charged after fleeing from police

CALEDONIA—On September 26, 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Haldimand County Highway 54, near Caledonia. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, and the lone occupant, allegedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed but was located soon after and placed under arrest. An 18-year-old of Six Nations of the Grand River has been charged with the following offences: dangerous operation; flight from peace officer; and driving while under suspension.

 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 28.
