Impaired charge laid

DUNNVILLE—An impaired driving charge was laid after police located an individual who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

On October 6, 2025 at approximately 2:25 p.m., members of the Haldimand OPP were on foot patrol when they located the vehicle occupied by only the driver on Tamarac Street, Dunnville.
Upon speaking with the driver, officers suspected the person had consumed an intoxicating substance and testing was administered. As a result of the testing, a 31-year-old of Dunnville was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The charges have not been proven in court. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on November 18.
