Multiple impaired drivers charged over one weekend

HALDIMAND—Three drivers were arrested over the last weekend of September and charged with impaired driving.

On September 27, 2025 at approximately 2:10 a.m., members of the Haldimand OPP observed a vehicle that brought attention to police while on patrol on Highway 6, near Hagersville.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the vehicle allegedly failed to acknowledge the efforts of police. Once the vehicle was stopped, the individual was taken into custody.

A 57-year-old of Hagersville has been charged with the following offences: operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor; fail to stop for police; and Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 14.

On September 27 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation on Mackenzie Road near Caledonia. The 40-year-old driver of Caledonia was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with: operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 21.

On September 28 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop on 4th Line near Hagersville. A 21-year-old of Caledonia has been charged with: operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 28.
